[Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs: Live Pig and Pork Prices Fluctuated Narrowly in the Third Week of September] According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs' monitoring of 500 county-level markets and collection points, last week (the third week of September, September 14-20), the national average price of live pigs was 11.48 yuan/kg, a decrease of 0.5% compared to the previous week; the average price of pork at farmers' markets was 21.18 yuan/kg, a decrease of 0.2% compared to the previous week. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs' monitoring and dispatch of 200 wholesale markets, the national average wholesale price of pork last week was 16.4 yuan/kg, an increase of 0.7% compared to the previous week, and a decrease of 16.1% year-on-year. Experts analyzed that last week, with the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, pig farmers actively sold their pigs, leading to a slight decrease in live pig prices; increased stockpiling by wholesalers, food processing, and catering companies drove up pork wholesale prices, but overall consumer demand in the terminal market was limited, resulting in a slight decrease in pork prices at farmers' markets.
