[Vostok Oil Project's Rapid Shipments Raise Concerns About Ice-Grade Capacity Bottleneck] ⑴ The Vostok Oil Project, just over two weeks after commencing production, is about to begin loading its fourth tanker. ⑵ The Panamax Valentin Picour is the project's only heavy ice-class tanker, loading approximately 500,000 barrels around September 5th. ⑶ Subsequently, the Aframax tankers Akademik Gubkin and Vladimir Monomakh each loaded approximately 800,000 barrels. ⑷ The fourth vessel will be the Vladimir Vinogradov. ⑸ All three Aframax tankers are light ice-class rated, applicable only to one-year ice thicknesses not exceeding 0.5 meters. ⑹ This means they will face difficulties operating in the region after November, or even earlier. ⑺ From a market sentiment perspective, the shipment pace indicates rapid project ramp-up, but insufficient ice-class capacity may constrain the continuity of winter exports.
