[Houthi Warns Other Countries Against Intervention] Mohammed al-Buhaiti, a senior member of the Houthi rebels in Yemen, confirmed on September 20 that the United States had recently communicated with the Houthis through mediator Oman, inquiring whether the Houthis intended to attack US targets in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Buhaiti stated that the Houthis had clearly indicated they would not attack US or other countries' targets in the Strait, with Saudi Arabia being the only exception. He also warned that if any country joins Saudi Arabia in its "aggression against Yemen," the Houthis are "prepared for international conflict."
