[New OJK Regulations in Indonesia: Ministry of Finance, Central Bank, and Danantara to Hold Shares After Non-Mutualization of Exchange] (1) According to the new regulations, the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) will allow the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Indonesia, and the sovereign wealth fund Danantara to hold shares in the Indonesian Stock Exchange after the completion of the non-mutualization reform. (2) Shareholders can directly or indirectly hold up to 5% of the shares without prior approval from the regulatory body; holding more than 5% requires approval from the OJK, and investors who intend to acquire a higher shareholding must prove that they can create value for the development of the exchange. (3) No shareholder may hold more than 50% of the shares of the Indonesian Stock Exchange, whether through direct, indirect, or related parties. (4) The Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of Indonesia, and Danantara can hold shares, provided that the independence of the exchange is maintained; the above-mentioned institutions may also entrust other entities to hold shares on their behalf. (5) Hassan Favzi, head of capital market supervision at the OJK, said on Monday that after the exchange completes the non-mutualization reform, exchange members, strategic investors, and the public can all hold shares; this reform will promote governance improvement, broaden capital channels, and accelerate the development of the exchange.
