Based on this, it is estimated that the RBI's net forward short position in August may have expanded to $232.3 billion. (2) Institutions estimate that the RBI's net sales in the spot and forward foreign exchange markets totaled $15.3 billion in August. (3) Analysts stated that the RBI will remain cautious in using its spot foreign exchange reserves and will increase its holdings of US dollars when conditions are appropriate.
