[Poland's Corporate Wages Rise 5.6% Year-on-Year in August, Below Expectations] ⑴ In August 2026, wages in Poland's corporate sector rose 5.6% year-on-year to 9,259.54 złoty, a slowdown from 6.8% in July and below market expectations of 6.6%. This marks the most modest growth in four months. ⑵ On a month-on-month basis, average gross wages fell 2.6%, reversing the 1.1% increase in July, due to a decrease in additional payments, including quarterly, annual, and discretionary bonuses, incentives, and retirement severance pay. ⑶ The average number of paid employees fell 0.8% year-on-year to 6.37 million full-time equivalents, and also fell 0.2% month-on-month. ⑷ Year-to-date, corporate wages have risen 5.9%, while employment has fallen 1.0%. The 3.0% increase in the statutory minimum wage to 4,806 złoty in January 2026 also contributed to wage growth.
