[Greece's Current Account Surplus Narrows to €220 Million in July] ⑴ In July 2026, Greece's current account surplus narrowed to €220 million from €670 million in the same period last year. ⑵ The goods deficit widened to €3.15 billion from €2.92 billion in the same period last year, as imports ($8.12 billion) grew faster than exports ($4.97 billion) in absolute terms. ⑶ During the same period, the primary income deficit widened to €680 million from €570 million, reflecting increased net interest, dividend, and profit payments. ⑷ The secondary income deficit increased to €600 million from €240 million in the same period last year, mainly due to increased net payments from the government sector. ⑸ Meanwhile, the services surplus rose slightly to €4.65 billion from €4.39 billion, primarily attributable to increased tourism spending.
