[Poland's National Debt Increased by 1.6% Month-on-Month at the End of August, Approaching 2.25 Trillion Złoty] ⑴ The Polish Ministry of Finance estimates that as of the end of August 2026, Poland's national debt increased by 35.9 billion złoty, equivalent to approximately €8.24 billion, a 1.6% increase, bringing the total to nearly 2.2491 trillion złoty. ⑵ Of this, domestic debt is approximately 1.8133 trillion złoty, while foreign currency-denominated debt is approximately 435.8 billion złoty, accounting for 19.4% of the total national debt. ⑶ As of the end of July 2026, Poland's national debt had exceeded 2.2131 trillion złoty. ⑷ Overall, the size of Poland's national debt continues to rise, with foreign currency debt accounting for nearly one-fifth. The impact of złoty exchange rate fluctuations and changes in domestic and international financing costs on the debt burden needs to be monitored.
