Bank of Canada Governor Macklem: So far, we have not seen any evidence that higher oil prices are spreading to other goods and services. Recent natural gas prices have been more aligned with oil prices, which are almost $40 higher than before. If inflationary pressures are under control, we do not want to raise interest rates to stifle growth. There is mounting evidence that many Canadian businesses have begun to adapt to U.S. tariff policies. Labor force growth is expected to be near zero for the next few years.
