The US dollar index rose on November 21. As a measure of the strength of the US dollar against six major international currencies, including the euro, yen, and pound sterling, the US dollar index rose 0.21% on the day, closing at 100.430 in the late New York foreign exchange market. At the close of trading in New York, the exchange rates of major currency pairs were as follows: 1 euro was worth 1.1465 US dollars, down from 1.1483 US dollars in the previous trading day; 1 pound sterling was worth 1.3369 US dollars, down from 1.3391 US dollars in the previous trading day. Conversely, 1 US dollar was worth 157.45 Japanese yen, up from 156.68 yen in the previous trading day; 1 US dollar was worth 0.8213 Swiss francs, down slightly from 0.8221 Swiss francs in the previous trading day; 1 US dollar was worth 1.4039 Canadian dollars, up from 1.3993 Canadian dollars in the previous trading day; and 1 US dollar was worth 9.8398 Swedish krona, up slightly from 9.8333 Swedish krona in the previous trading day.
