[Canada Pushes for "Middle Power Diplomacy" to Reduce Dependence on the US] Canadian Foreign Minister Anand said on October 31 that Canada is pursuing a "middle power diplomacy," seeking to strengthen trade and security ties with multiple partners outside the United States to reduce its single dependence on external powers and aiming to double Canada's trade with non-US markets within 10 years. Anand made the remarks on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Atlanta, USA. In an interview with Reuters, she said the meeting demonstrated the "distorted and fractured nature" of the current international order, highlighting the international community's need for "new blocs, new alliances, and new partnerships."
