[Vietnam's Manufacturing Growth Accelerates] Vietnam's S&P Global Manufacturing PMI rose to 52.3 in October 2026, recovering from a three-month low of 51.9 in the previous month. Supported by stronger customer demand and continued growth in new orders, manufacturing output continued to expand. However, the pace of expansion slowed to a six-month low, with some manufacturers reporting difficulties in sourcing raw materials constraining production. Meanwhile, supplier delivery times extended to their largest extent since April, mainly due to rising fuel costs and adverse weather conditions. On the price front, input cost inflation rose for the second consecutive month, reaching its fastest pace since June, but remained well below the peak levels following the outbreak of the Middle East wars. Manufacturers subsequently raised selling prices at a faster pace. Finally, business confidence climbed to an eight-month high, reflecting optimistic expectations of improved raw material supplies and further strengthening market conditions.
