[Japanese Poll: Japanese Respondents Give Poor Ratings to President Trump's Performance] A poll released Tuesday by Tokyo Broadcasting System News showed that of the 3,544 respondents, only 23.1% "agree" with the Trump administration's policies and political stances, while 38.7% strongly opposed the current White House's policies. 78.2% of respondents gave Trump a poor rating for his presidency; however, 52.6% said Japan needs a "strong politician" with a Trump-style approach, but not one with Trump's flamboyance. Yoichi Shimada, Professor Emeritus at Fukui Prefectural University, stated that Trump is too aggressive and always focuses on trivial matters. He is too easily swayed and exaggerates when speaking and making promises. This style simply doesn't work with Japanese voters.
