[NASA's Swift Observatory Re-enters the Atmosphere After Nearly 22 Years of Scientific Observation] On November 4th local time, NASA's Swift Observatory, having completed its nearly 22-year scientific observation mission, deorbited as expected and re-entered Earth's atmosphere over Indonesia, burning up and disintegrating. The U.S. Space Force confirmed that the observatory entered the atmosphere over North Sumatra, Indonesia, at approximately Mach 22 at 7:39 AM Eastern Time. NASA stated that most of the structure is expected to burn up during re-entry, with a small amount of debris potentially reaching the ground. No reports of injuries or property damage have been received so far. The observatory was launched in 2004 with an initial mission designed for two years. (CCTV News)
