[Trump: Impeachment Would "Destroy" Democrats, But Won't Fire Hergsays] US President Trump watched the erection of beams and signed documents at a construction site in the White House banquet hall on March 4. When asked if he was worried about impeachment, he said he wasn't at all, believing that if the Democrats initiated impeachment without cause, it would "destroy" the Democratic Party. He also ruled out the possibility of firing Defense Secretary Hergsays, saying she had done an excellent job. Earlier reports indicated that after the Republicans' midterm election losses, Trump had asked his advisor Hergsays whether she should remain in her position. Several mainstream US media outlets predicted a major Democratic victory in the March 3 midterm elections, regaining control of the Senate and the House of Representatives. (Xinhua)
