[Switzerland's Unemployment Rate Remains at 3% for the Third Consecutive Month] Switzerland's unadjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.0% for the third consecutive month in October 2026. The number of unemployed increased by 535 from the previous month to 141,015. Among the cantons, Valais (+327), Bern (+300), and Graubünden (+204) saw the largest increases, while Vaud saw the largest decrease (-250). The service sector saw the largest increase in unemployment (+696), followed by agriculture, forestry, and fishing (+116), while industry recorded a decrease (-115). The unemployment rate for youth aged 15 to 24 slightly decreased to 3.2% from 3.3% in September, with the number of unemployed youth decreasing by 679 to 13,667. The unemployment rate for workers aged 50 to 64 rose slightly to 2.7% from 2.6%, with the number of unemployed in this age group increasing by 239 to 38,721. The number of registered job seekers decreased by 3,737 to 40,462. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 3.1%, unchanged from the previous six months.
