[Zelensky Says Hope for Democratic Victory Would Help Increase US Aid to Ukraine] According to a report in the Ukrainian newspaper *Ukraine Pravda* on the 5th, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with German media on the 4th, stated that he hopes a Democratic victory in the US midterm elections would help the US increase aid to Ukraine and put pressure on Russia. Zelensky said, "We have bipartisan support. I also thank the Republicans, but the Democrats' stance on supporting Ukraine and providing aid is very clear." He stated that if the US Congress could discuss providing substantial financial or military aid to Ukraine, it would help influence Russian decision-making and promote negotiations and an early peace process. Several mainstream US media outlets predict a landslide victory for the Democrats in the US midterm elections held on the 3rd, allowing them to regain control of the Senate and House of Representatives.
