[US Defense Secretary Hergsays Faces Impeachment Pressure, Vows to Fight Back] CCTV reporters learned on the 5th local time that, amidst significant progress by the Democratic Party in the US midterm elections and some members of Congress indicating they would push for impeachment proceedings, US Defense Secretary Hergsays released a video on social media, stating that he would fight back resolutely. Hergsays accused Republican Representative Thomas Macy and his Democratic allies of presenting baseless articles of impeachment, calling the actions politically motivated personal attacks, and stating that such tactics would not work against him. It is understood that Macy first presented articles of impeachment against Hergsays in September of this year, stating that unless Hergsays resigns, he will re-initiate impeachment proceedings.
