Microsoft is terminating its AI cloud computing power lease agreements with Oracle. This move is part of a comprehensive reassessment of Microsoft's multi-billion dollar cloud partnerships. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Microsoft decided not to renew the contracts in recent months and is gradually shutting down the computing resources leased from Oracle. According to these unnamed sources, as business progressed, Oracle's computing power became incompatible with Microsoft's technical standards, as it was equipped with older generation Nvidia chips. An Oracle spokesperson stated that market demand for the company's AI infrastructure, including older generation GPUs, remains strong. Oracle disclosed in September that some GPU contracts that had been in use for four years were being renewed at a 20% premium over the original agreements.
