[ECB Interest Rate Deadlock Until 2027? The Euro's Fate Hangs by a Thread] ⑴ All 88 economists predict the ECB will keep its deposit rate unchanged at 2.00% on October 30th, marking the third consecutive period of no change. ⑵ Nearly 72% of respondents (63/88) expect interest rates to remain stable this year, while 57% (45/79) believe they will remain at their current level through the end of 2026, compared to less than half last month. ⑶ Eurozone economic growth forecasts remain stable, at 1.2% in 2025, 1.1% in 2026, and 1.4% in 2027, exactly as forecast in September. ⑷ The inflation path remains stable, with the median forecast suggesting inflation will hover around the 2% target until 2027, supporting the ECB's decision to pause rate cuts. ⑸ Despite the overall stable outlook, a majority of the 24 economists believe eurozone economic growth is more likely to be weaker than expected over the next year, with Germany expected to grow by just 0.2% this year and France by 0.6%.
