[Tokyo Metropolitan Government Issues Climate Adaptation Bond] The Tokyo Metropolitan Government issued 300 million euros (53 billion yen) in bonds on Tuesday to strengthen flood prevention and other climate-related countermeasures. The funds will be used to upgrade coastal protection facilities at Tokyo Port, develop sand control facilities, and enhance river flood control capabilities. According to the Tokyo government, the bond has been verified by the Climate Bonds Initiative and is the world's first certified resilience bond.
