[Global Distribution of Undiscovered Gold Reserves] ⑴ According to data from the U.S. Geological Survey, as of January 2025, Russia and Australia each had 12,000 tons of undiscovered gold reserves, tying for first place globally. ⑵ Together, these two countries account for nearly 40% of the world's total undiscovered gold reserves. ⑶ Based on a gold price of US$4,362 per ounce, the value of their gold reserves is US$1.68 trillion each. ⑷ South Africa has approximately 5,000 tons of undiscovered gold reserves, ranking third globally. ⑸ Indonesia ranks fourth with 3,800 tons, and Canada ranks fifth with 3,200 tons. ⑹ The United States has approximately 3,100 tons of undiscovered gold reserves.
