[Shanxi's New Energy Power Generation to Exceed 100 Billion kWh for the First Time in 2025] According to the State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company, Shanxi's new energy power generation reached 118 billion kWh in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 26%, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 35 million households, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 88 million tons. By the end of 2025, Shanxi's installed new energy capacity reached 78.808 million kilowatts, with 16.914 million kilowatts of new grid-connected wind and solar new energy capacity added in 2025. Shanxi utilized market-based mechanisms to absorb new energy power, with 22.2 billion kWh of new energy traded in the market in 2025. It also conducted its first multi-year hourly green electricity trading and established its first medium- and long-term backup ancillary service market. (Xinhua News Agency)
