On January 17 local time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky chaired an energy coordination meeting. He announced the news on his official social media platform, pointing out that energy repair work was underway in almost all regions of the country, with the situation in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast being particularly severe. He requested the Kyiv city government to verify the number of residential buildings that were still without heating, stated that Ukraine would increase electricity imports as soon as possible and bring in more equipment from partners, and also indicated that he had issued special instructions to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense regarding air force operations and air defense missions.
