Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted on X that the company's AI5 chip design for its Full Self-Driving system is largely complete and it is now in the early stages of developing the next-generation AI6. He said Tesla hopes to adopt a nine-month design cycle for future chip iterations. Tesla's stock price surged nearly 7% after Musk posted about the chip's progress on November 24 last year. The company uses these chips to power its self-driving car features and its nascent robotics product line.
