[Iran Says It Is Ready to Ambush Enemy Fifth-Generation Fighters and Advanced Drones] (1) On April 4 local time, Alireza Erkhami, commander of the Joint Air Defense Command of Iran, said during an inspection of the army and Revolutionary Guard defensive positions that Iran is "ready to ambush enemy fifth-generation fighters and advanced drones" using new methods and equipment developed independently. (2) He revealed that in previous battles, Iranian air defense forces successfully shot down several enemy advanced fighters, more than 160 drones including the "MQ-9," "Hermes," and "Lucas" which were jointly invaded by the US and Israel, as well as dozens of cruise missiles, and took "timely and precise" actions before the enemy attacked. (3) In addition, in the operations carried out by the army and Revolutionary Guard air defense forces, many enemy fourth-generation and fifth-generation fighters were hit, damaged, or crashed. Erkhami said that this achievement was due to the innovative use of advanced tactics, modern equipment, and air defense systems, which threw the enemy into chaos.
