On April 4, local time, Hezbollah in Lebanon issued a statement claiming that at 1:45 PM that day, the group launched a batch of rockets at the Israeli town of Kiriatshmona. Simultaneously, it also launched a series of rockets at Israeli military vehicles and soldiers in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement on the same day stating that due to a "technical malfunction," a rocket launched from Lebanon struck Kiriatshmona in northern Israel without triggering air raid sirens. The IDF stated that an investigation revealed the rocket was not detected in time, and the investigation is ongoing.
