[First Batch of Units Connected to Grid at Qiyuan Offshore Wind Farm, Expected to Generate 150 Million kWh Annually] It was learned today from the State Energy Group that the first batch of units at the Longyuan Power Hainan Qiyuan Offshore Wind Power Project have officially been connected to the grid, marking a new breakthrough in the large-scale operation of large-capacity offshore wind turbines in my country. Liu Dan, head of the Longyuan Qiyuan Offshore Wind Farm at the State Energy Group, stated that after all units are put into operation, the Qiyuan Offshore Wind Farm is expected to generate over 1.5 billion kWh annually, meeting the electricity needs of approximately 1.2 million three-person households in Hainan. This is equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by approximately 467,000 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1.271 million tons annually. This will strongly support the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the Clean Energy Island, and provide experience for the subsequent installation and large-scale operation of large-capacity wind turbines in my country.
