Heavy rainfall began in the early hours of April 4th in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, triggering severe flooding. More than 1,000 homes were submerged. On April 5th, a multi-story house collapsed in Makhachkala, the republic's capital, due to flooding and erosion of its foundation, with several other houses also in danger of collapsing. Approximately 300 residents were evacuated. Additionally, a landslide in one village resulted in the death of one resident. The floods also disrupted road traffic and caused power outages in several areas.
