[Multiple International Organizations Say US-Israel-Iraq War Poses Serious Risk to African Economy] The African Union, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the African Development Bank, and the United Nations Development Programme recently jointly released a policy briefing stating that the ongoing tensions in the Middle East are continuously disrupting key international transport routes and energy and fertilizer supply chains, leading to a significant slowdown in African economic growth and posing a serious risk to African economies. The policy briefing predicts that if the current tensions persist for more than six months, Africa's GDP growth rate this year will decline by 0.2 percentage points. The briefing shows that Africa has close trade ties with the Middle East. African economies import approximately 15.8% from the Middle East and export approximately 10.9% to the Middle East.
