Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi stated that Japan is seeking to hold dialogue with the Iranian government at an appropriate time to help prevent further escalation of the conflict and ensure the release of ships stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking at the Diet in Tokyo, she said that Japan has completed multiple rounds of coordination with Iran and hopes that all ships, regardless of nationality, will be released.
