[Foreign Media: A Small Number of Oil Tankers and Cargo Ships Pass Through the Strait of Hormuz] Several media outlets recently reported that a small number of oil tankers and cargo ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz. Foreign media reported on the 5th that an oil tanker carrying Iraqi crude oil had passed through the Strait of Hormuz and will unload its cargo at a relevant Malaysian port in mid-April. The media outlet cited unnamed sources as saying that Iran allowed several ships with ties to Malaysia to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Previously, Al Jazeera reported that Iran stated it would allow Iraq unrestricted use of the Strait of Hormuz. The BBC reported on the 4th that a large container ship belonging to the French shipping group CMA CGM had also passed through the Strait of Hormuz. Shipping analysis firm Kepler stated that this is the first vessel owned by a major Western European shipping company to transit the Strait of Hormuz since the outbreak of the US-Israel-Iraq war. Additionally, Japan's Mitsui O.S.K. Lines also stated that one of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers had earlier passed through the Strait of Hormuz. (Xinhua)
