[Morgan Stanley: Middle East Situation Impacts Iran's Steel and Iron Ore Supply Chain, Potentially Affecting Shipping Market] ⑴ Morgan Stanley analysts stated in a report that the recent situation in the Middle East has had a substantial impact on Iran's steel and iron ore supply chain and may affect the shipping market. ⑵ The report points out that in 2025, Iran's direct reduced iron (DRI) production will account for approximately 25% of the global total, equivalent to about 37 million tons; its iron ore supply will account for approximately 3% of the global total, equivalent to about 68 million tons. ⑶ In 2024, Iran exported approximately 800,000 tons of DRI and approximately 22 million tons of iron ore.
