[US Energy Information Administration: Oil Prices to Face Upward Pressure This Year] The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) released its Short-Term Energy Outlook report on the 7th, pointing out that even if the Middle East conflict ends and the Strait of Hormuz reopens, it will still take time for global crude oil supply to return to normal, and oil prices will face upward pressure throughout the year. Specifically, the report raised its forecast for the average spot price of global benchmark Brent crude oil this year from $78.84 per barrel to $96 per barrel, and expects retail gasoline and diesel prices to continue to rise. The agency stated that even after the war ends, it will take several months for oil transportation through the Strait of Hormuz to fully resume. During this period, oil prices will remain high until transportation fully resumes and Middle Eastern oil-producing countries return to normal production levels. The report specifically mentioned that risk premiums will continue to support oil prices in the face of uncertainty regarding future supply disruptions. (CCTV Finance)
