[US Embassy in Iraq Urges U.S. Citizens to Evacuate Immediately] On August 8th local time, the US Embassy in Iraq issued a statement saying that Iraqi militias "backed by Iran" may be planning further attacks against U.S. citizens and U.S.-related targets in Iraq. The statement advised U.S. citizens not to travel by air within Iraq and recommended that U.S. citizens still in Iraq leave the country immediately by land. (CCTV)
