[Thailand confirms three crew members killed in attack on ship in Strait of Hormuz, will seek Oman's assistance for safe passage] (1) Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow confirmed at a press conference that three crew members of the Thai bulk carrier "Mayuri Nari," which was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz last month (March 11), have died. (2) There were 23 crew members on board at the time of the incident. Omani authorities successfully rescued 20 people, but the remaining three were ultimately confirmed dead. Thailand said it would visit Oman to thank it for its rescue efforts and seek assistance to ensure the safe passage of the nine Thai ships still stranded in the strait. (3) Omani authorities are currently in contact with Tehran.
