[Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister: Strait of Hormuz Remains Open, But Requires Coordination with Iran] On the 9th local time, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Khatibzadeh stated in a media interview that the Strait of Hormuz remains open, but due to the ongoing conflict, passage is subject to certain technical restrictions. Khatibzadeh pointed out that because the strait is located in a war zone, and Iran has taken several measures during the conflict, all ships wishing to pass only need to communicate and coordinate with the Iranian military and relevant liaison points beforehand. He emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is narrow and involves the territorial waters of both Iran and Oman, therefore, prudent measures must be taken to ensure the safe passage of oil tankers and other vessels. When asked whether US ships would be allowed to pass, Khatibzadeh stated that, in principle, ships from all parties can pass as long as they do not engage in hostile acts, and no signs of related risks have been found. However, all ships must still comply with existing coordination mechanisms and restrictions. (CCTV News)
