[US Government Concerned About Insufficient AI Computing Power, Google TPU's Classified Issues Remain Unresolved] (1) Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google's parent company Alphabet, visited the White House and held key meetings with several senior officials of the Trump administration. The core issue was the US concern about insufficient AI computing power, making it difficult for the government to reserve sufficient AI computing resources to maintain the national defense security system. (2) This concern stems from Anthropic's Claude Mythos advanced model, which is only open to dozens of companies and government agencies. Although it is claimed to be for security reasons, it has caused widespread unease in the US. To this end, the government hopes to reduce its dependence on Claude by using technologies such as Google's Gemini model and OpenAI's GPT series, which also brings opportunities for Google and OpenAI. (3) However, Google faces a major problem: its self-developed AI processing chip, the Tensor Processor (TPU), cannot be adapted to some classified business scenarios. Anthropic's models mostly run on Amazon Web Services, which has obtained the highest security certification, thus becoming a convenient choice for the government.
