[Germany to Build World's Tallest Wind Turbine in Former Coal Mining Area] In Lusatia, a former coal mining region in Brandenburg, eastern Germany, a 365-meter-tall wind turbine, taller than the Eiffel Tower, is under construction. Once completed by the end of this year, it will become the world's tallest wind turbine. Jochen Grossmann, founder of the project's developer, the German Gicon Group, told AFP that the turbine will generate twice the power of traditional onshore wind turbines, equivalent to offshore wind turbines, and can supply electricity to 7,500 homes.
