Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Qassem Ghalibaf stated during a meeting with Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Munir on the 23rd that Iran will never compromise on issues concerning the rights and interests of the nation and its people. According to a report released by Iran's Mehr News Agency on the 23rd, Ghalibaf said, "We will never betray the legitimate rights and interests of the nation and its people," especially when facing an opponent who is "completely dishonest and untrustworthy." He stated that just as Iran "defends national sovereignty with courage and strength" on the battlefield, it will also "rely on wisdom and hard power" in the diplomatic arena to ensure that the nation's legitimate rights and interests are not infringed upon. Ghalibaf also mentioned that soldiers understand the value of peace more than other groups, but will absolutely not allow national dignity and legitimate rights to be wantonly damaged.
