The draft peace agreement between Iran and China includes provisions for a cessation of all hostilities (including the conflict in Lebanon), the unfreezing of billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets, a reduction in U.S. naval presence near the Strait of Hormuz, and the relocation of U.S. military bases to the rear. Both sides have 30 days to finalize the nuclear agreement, a period that can be extended through negotiation. Iran and Oman are also simultaneously consulting on rules of passage and related management in the Strait of Hormuz.
