[WHO: More than 900 suspected Ebola cases, conflict hinders control efforts] (1) WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that there are now more than 900 suspected Ebola cases, including 101 confirmed cases. (2) Tedros pointed out that the ongoing fighting between rebels and pro-government forces in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo is hindering efforts to control the Ebola outbreak. (3) Previously, the WHO had issued a statement declaring the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda a “Public Health Emergency of International Concern”.
