【ADNOC Uses "Dark Voyages" to Break Through the Strait of Hormuz Blockade for Oil Transport】 (1) According to foreign media reports, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is quietly using its own fleet to bypass the Iranian Navy and US warships by means of "dark voyages" with transponders turned off, transporting oil and gas to customers with tight supply, becoming one of the most successful energy exporters in the Middle East. (2) Other Middle Eastern oil-producing countries and Western commodity traders have also tried to transport through the Strait of Hormuz, but most rely on chartered tankers, thus being subject to the risk preferences of ship owners; while ADNOC uses ships controlled by Navig8, a company controlled by its shipping and logistics division, and its joint venture partners. (3) Wright, a senior analyst at shipping analysis firm Kpler, said that with the UAE's withdrawal from OPEC and its search for ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz with signals turned off, ADNOC is willing to take higher risks to transport oil out.
