[Malaysia's energy supply is sufficient until the end of July, but agricultural exports are expected to decline by 13.5% in 2026] (1) Malaysian Economic Minister Akmal Nasrula said that the state-owned oil company Petronas has assured the National Economic Action Committee that Malaysia's energy supply will remain sufficient until the end of July, despite the disruption to the supply of key materials caused by the conflict in the Middle East. (2) The government is currently monitoring commodity prices on a weekly basis and has not found any sudden supply and demand imbalance in the power supply; the existing reserve power capacity is still sufficient to cope with the current demand growth. (3) The Federal Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities expects agricultural and commodity exports to decline by 13.48% year-on-year to RM170.2 billion in 2026, while imports are expected to decline by 3.28% to RM72.47 billion.
