According to data from the Ministry of Finance, in April, national lottery sales totaled 54.073 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.672 billion yuan, or 6.4%, year-on-year. This was mainly due to the high base of instant lottery sales in the same period last year, and the decline in sports betting sales this year due to fewer sporting events. Specifically, welfare lottery sales reached 17.958 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.217 billion yuan, or 6.3%, year-on-year; sports lottery sales reached 36.116 billion yuan, a decrease of 2.455 billion yuan, or 6.4%, year-on-year. From January to April, national lottery sales totaled 198.033 billion yuan, a decrease of 8.304 billion yuan, or 4.0%, year-on-year. Specifically, welfare lottery sales reached 66.36 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.091 billion yuan, or 5.8%, year-on-year; sports lottery sales reached 131.672 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.213 billion yuan, or 3.1%, year-on-year.
