[Malaysia's Palm Oil Exports Plunge 14.5% in May, All Three Major Destinations Shrink] ⑴ Data released Monday by independent inspection agency ITS showed that Malaysia's palm oil exports from May 1st to 25th totaled 1,019,777 tons, a 14.5% decrease compared to 1,192,798 tons in the same period of April. ⑵ Among the main varieties, crude palm oil exports fell from 242,040 tons to 170,900 tons, refined palm oil from 102,655 tons to 82,855 tons, palm stearin from 92,599 tons to 66,980 tons, while crude palm kernel exports rose from 14,500 tons to 33,200 tons. ⑶ Exports to all three major destination markets declined: exports to the EU fell from 296,265 tons to 237,125 tons, and exports to India and the subcontinent fell from 240,070 tons to 171,400 tons. (4) Looking at the monthly trends, April's total exports were 1,404,618 tons, a decrease of 15.3% month-on-month; March's exports were 1,658,021 tons, a significant increase of 44.3% month-on-month; and February's exports were 1,149,063 tons, a decrease of 21.5% month-on-month.
