[Iranian conflict disrupts fuel transport, India's gas-fired power generation falls to a six-year low, scorching heat pushes electricity demand to record high] (1) Affected by the disruption of fuel transport due to the Iranian conflict, India's gas-fired power generation has fallen to its lowest level in at least six years; at the same time, scorching heat is pushing electricity demand to record highs, exacerbating the already tight power supply. (2) Last week, temperatures soared, and people used air conditioning and cooling equipment extensively, resulting in a peak electricity consumption of 270.8 gigawatts, which continued to rise for four consecutive days; daytime demand was basically met by solar power, but power supply could not keep up when demand surged at night.
