[Caspian Pipeline Union Crude Oil Exports Rise 5% to 6.314 Million Tons in April, Kazakhstan Production Jumps 16%] ⑴ Two industry sources said on Monday that the Caspian Pipeline Union's crude oil exports rose approximately 5% month-on-month in April, increasing to 6.314 million tons from 6.196 million tons in March, equivalent to 1.67 million barrels per day. ⑵ The export growth was driven by a significant 16% jump in Kazakhstan's crude oil production. Kazakhstan will also divert 160,000 tons of crude oil originally destined for Germany to the Caspian Pipeline Union system this month. ⑶ The alliance plans to increase its crude oil exports this year from 70.5 million tons in 2025 to 72 million tons. Its major shareholders include Russia (31%), Kazakhstan (20.75%), Chevron (15%), and other companies. (4) From the perspective of transaction logic, the Caspian Pipeline Alliance, as an important channel for Kazakhstan to transport crude oil to the global market via the Russian terminal in the Black Sea, has seen a steady recovery in its exports, indicating that crude oil supply in Central Asia is recovering. This helps to partially offset the expected supply gap caused by geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East. However, attention should be paid to whether the geopolitical risks along the route through the Black Sea region will pose a potential disturbance to the stability of subsequent transportation.
