Nissan has cancelled plans to produce electric vehicle components in the UK. As part of its restructuring efforts, Nissan has decided to reduce the number of its domestic and international plants and decrease production capacity, including adjusting its powertrain production base. The planned supplier was Jatco, a subsidiary that co-develops EV powertrains with Nissan. Jatco had planned to build a plant in Sunderland, central England, in 2026 and supply components to nearby Nissan plants.
