[UK Announces New Round of Sanctions Against Russia] On May 26, local time, the British government announced a new round of sanctions targeting the Russian financial system. This round of sanctions covers 18 entities. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Department issued a statement that day stating the new sanctions would take effect immediately. The British government stated that since the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the UK has cumulatively sanctioned more than 3,300 Russian-related individuals, companies, and vessels.
